Equality Impact Assessments
Equality Impact Assessments are undertaken to assess the impact of a change to services or policies on service users and council employees with protected characteristics and to demonstrate that the council has considered the aims of the Equality Duty.
Initial assessments are carried out on any service/policy changes that may have an impact. Initial assessments that only have neutral or positive impacts are kept as background documents, with relevant comment in covering reports. Assessments which identify negative impacts are subject to a further, more detailed assessments, referred to as Full Assessments. These are submitted to committee for full consideration.
