Notice of review of polling districts, places and stations
East Northamptonshire Council is conducting a review of polling districts, places and stations, as required by section 18C(1) of the Representation of the People Act 1983, as amended by the Electoral Administration Act 2006.
Any registered elector in East Northamptonshire may make representations on the existing and proposed arrangements. If you would like to make any comments, you can write to the Democratic Services Manager, East Northamptonshire House, Cedar Drive, Thrapston, NN14 4LZ or e-mail email@example.com before 15 September 2011.
We are inviting the Returning Officers for the Corby and East Northamptonshire, and Wellingborough Parliamentary constituencies to make representations as part of the review, and East Northamptonshire Council’s Returning Officer, David Oliver, will comment on existing and proposed polling stations.
We would especially like to hear from any person or body with expertise on access for persons with any type of disability.
Suggestions are particularly welcome on alternative polling stations, if current ones are considered unsuitable.
Our initial proposals (which mainly comprise the districts, places and stations currently in use) can be viewed on our website at www.east-northamptonshire.gov.uk/pollingdistrictreview. This page will include, in due course, any submissions made. In addition, all proposals and suggestions may be inspected at the East Northamptonshire Council, Thrapston.
The council will make decisions on final polling arrangements at its meeting on 31 October 2011.
