Food businesses in the district are being encouraged by East Northamptonshire Council (ENC) to work hard to achieve and maintain a five star rating this Christmas.
Whatever type of food business you are, from corner shop to restaurant, make sure you display your Food Hygiene Rating sticker to show your customers that you take food hygiene seriously.
The Food Hygiene Rating Scheme is designed so that most food businesses, no matter how small, can achieve the top rating.
Steven North, Leader of East Northamptonshire Council, said: "This is an important time for local businesses. A good food hygiene rating is something to be proud of, so we are reminding all food businesses in East Northamptonshire to display their rating and have a prosperous festive season."
Need to improve your rating? Have you thought about attending ENC’s food safety training course? It’s designed for anyone working with or around food and leads to a nationally recognised qualification (Chartered Institute of Environmental Health Level 2 Award in Food Safety in catering). Not only is the course interesting and delivered in an interactive way, it also provides the opportunity to network with other local businesses.
The next course will be on 12 November, shortly followed by another on 20 January 2015. For more information about what the course covers and for booking details, visit our Food Safety Training page.
If you run a food business and would like to discuss your rating or would like some tips on how to improve food safety in your business, phone 01832 742055 to speak to one of ENC’s officers. They are on hand Monday to Friday 9-5 to offer advice and support.
