Crow Hill Community Day

A public community day is being held at Crow Hill Community Centre, Irthlingborough on Friday, 14 August from 10.30am to 2.30pm.

Run in partnership with Orbit Heart of England and Rockingham Forest Housing Association, the aim of the day is to put the heart back into the community.

Leader of East Northamptonshire Council, Steven North, said: "I am pleased that East Northants Council is a part of this one-off community event. There will be representatives from several of our services to offer advice and support throughout the day, alongside a wide variety of other agencies. You can even bring along your unwanted electrical items, batteries, textiles and mobile phones and we’ll recycle them for you. Everyone from the Crow Hill estate is welcome, so come along to find out about the services available where you live and to meet your neighbours."

Elaine Bradshaw, Orbit Heart of England Housing Officer, said: "This is a fantastic opportunity for people to come together and put some spirit back into the community. We’ve got a great range of agencies and organisations coming along to support us; including Community Law who will give free advice on debt, welfare benefits, housing and legal issues; Jobcentre Plus; Northamptonshire Police; the Fire and Rescue Service; Service Six, an outreach youth service and many more.

"As well as painting fences, tidying gardens and getting rid of unwanted goods, there will be the chance to relax, enjoy an ice-cream, have a kick around and just get to know each other."
