Award winning free parking in East Northamptonshire

Published Monday, 09 December 2013

Six of our car parks have received the prestigious Park Mark award.

With 14 free car parks to choose from and generous allowances of time to park, it’s easy to do your shopping in any of the six towns in East Northamptonshire.

To give you extra peace of mind, six of our car parks have received the prestigious Park Mark award which denotes a safe, clean quality parking environment.

Duck Street, John Street, Rectory Road (Orchard Place) and Splash car parks in Rushden and Sackville Street and East Northamptonshire Council car parks in Thrapston have all received the award which is given by the Police.  It signifies to residents and visitors that these car parks provide somewhere safe and well looked after to park – an important assurance for many families and shoppers.

A recent Safer Parking Scheme assessment of the car parks said: “Duck Street car park is well maintained and attracts a good vehicle throughput… Splash car park is a well used and safe place to park…I am happy with all possible features that contribute to John Street being a safe and inviting place to park.”

East Northamptonshire Council Leader, Cllr Steven North, says: “We’ve always been proud to offer free parking in all of our towns and the Park Mark accreditation is an indication of our commitment to providing and investing in decent and safer car parks for residents and visitors.”
