Community Governance Review for the Parish of Deene and Deenthorpe

East Northamptonshire Council is undertaking a review of community governance arrangements for the Parish of Deene and Deenthorpe. This follows receipt of a valid petition from a number of registered electors in the Deene and Deenethorpe area of the District requesting the overall number of councillors be increased from 6 to 7 and that all councillors represent the whole of the parish area. This request would require the existing wards of Deene and Deenethorpe to be removed, leaving a single parish area.
The review began on Monday 21 October 2019 and is scheduled to run until March 2020.

The first stage of the review has now concluded and its second stage involved officers reviewing the requests made in the petition and then making proposals as to next steps. 

These proposals (see bottom of page) are now being consulted upon as stage 3 of the review, from 13 January to 23 February 2020. Comments on the draft proposals are being invited from any individuals or organisations which have a view on whether any of the current parish boundaries or parish council arrangements in Deene and Deenethorpe should be changed.
