Register of Interests

A Councillor's Register of Interests is a public document.

East Northamptonshire Council 

East Northamptonshire councillors are required by law to notify the council's Monitoring Officer of their Disclosable Pecuniary Interests in accordance with the Localism Act 2011 and any other relevant interests in accordance with the Code of Conduct adopted by the council. Pecuniary is a legal term roughly meaning having a monetary value.

Town and Parish Councils

The Monitoring Officer is also responsible for maintaining the Register of Interests for all the town and parish councils in East Northamptonshire.

Town and Parish Councils within the district have the option of adopting the same Code of Conduct as East Northamptonshire Council or adopting a separate code of their own.

New councillors have to return their Register of Interests to the Monitoring Officer within 28 days of being elected or co-opted.

Additions/Amendments to the Register of Interests must be notified to the Monitoring Officer within 28 days by either completing the on-line form or by completing and returning the Amendment to the Register of Interests form.
