This Privacy notice relates to client records relating to Building Control applications or enquiries.

Your personal information - what we need and why

East Northamptonshire Council (the data controller for the personal information you provide in this form) collects personal information to deal with your application or enquiry and to allow us to provide the service you have asked for. It is necessary to hold this information to allow us to deliver the Building Control service you request, and to provide any other necessary services to you.

The personal infomation we collect includes your name, address, email address, telephone number and any other information provided to us. We will not collect any personal data from you that we do not need.

How we keep your information safe

The Council take your data security seriously. The information you provide will be held securely in our building control software system, and data management system.

Who do we share your data with?                                                                                         

We may need to share your personal information internally with other departments to ensure that all relevant consents are considered in conjunction with the proposed works that you have applied for.

East Northamptonshire Council and the Borough Council of Wellingborough have a joint Building Control service which requires information to be shared between the two local authorities to help provide a service to you.

We will not share your data with any third parties unless we are required or permitted to do so by law.

How long do we keep your data?

The council will keep your personal information (name, address, contact details) for 15 years after the work has been issued with an all works completion certificate, or project expiry period after which time it will be securely destroyed.
