The North Northamptonshire Safety and Resilience Partnership (NNSRP) is hosted by Kettering Borough Council and delivers Corporate Safety, Emergency Planning and Business Continuity services across the three authorities of Kettering, Corby and East Northamptonshire Council.
Emergency Planning and Business Continuity are the responsibility of the Resilience Officers, who also work together with other 'Category 1 & 2 Responders' under the umbrella of the Northamptonshire Local Resilience Forum. Local Resilience Forums are multi-agency partnerships made up of representatives from local public services, including the emergency services, local authorities, the NHS, the Environment Agency and others.
Emergency Planning
NNSRP prepare, maintain and review emergency plans in order to deal with the most likely risks to affect Northamptonshire. We deliver and attend training and exercises throughout the year to make sure we're ready to respond to an emergency.
Preparing for emergencies at the local level is carried out under a piece of legislation called the Civil Contingencies Act (2004).
All principal local authorities (metropolitan districts, shire counties, shire districts and shire unitaries) are Category 1 or “core” responders under the Civil Contingencies Act.
The purpose of the Civil Contingencies Act is to establish a statutory framework for civil protection at the local level. It sets out clear expectations and responsibilities for front line responders to ensure that they are prepared to deal effectively with the full range of emergencies from localised incidents through to catastrophic emergencies.

Out of hours service
We operate an emergency out of hours service to provide response to serious environmental health related incidents such as deaths in the work place, food poisoning out breaks and major pollution incidents including noise events. To do this, call 01832 733530. This service is managed by an external company called Apello, who will answer your call as soon as possible.
