We are responsible for issuing gambling permits for the following:
- Gaming machine permits in alcohol licensed premises
- Gaming permits and gaming machine permits in clubs.
- Gaming machine permits in unlicensed family entertainment centres
- Prize gaming permits
How to apply
Gaming machine permits in alcohol licensed premises
If you manage an alcohol licensed premises and plan to have no more than two gaming machines of category C or D you must send us a notice.
If you wish to have more than two machines you will require a gaming machine permit from the authority. You should apply for a permit at least two months before you require it.
For either of the above please download the Alcohol Licensed Premises Gaming Machine Application Form and complete the relevant sections for your notice or permit request. This form should also be used to vary or transfer your permit. Notifications do not transfer. If you take over a premises with machines it is important you send us the correct notification or permit application.
Club gaming permit and club machine permit
A club gaming permit allows up to three gaming machines made up of category B4, C or D gaming machines, plus equal chance prize gaming.
A club machine permit allows up to three gaming machines made up of category B4, C and D gaming machines, but no other form of gaming
