The study was conducted using a method of primary and secondary data and included:
- A consideration of housing costs in East Northamptonshire
- A postal survey conducted amongst a sample of residents in a catchment area of Rushden, Irthlingborough, Higham Ferrers, Raunds and Stanwick.
- A household survey of applicants on the Councils Housing Register who had expressed an interest in being housed in one of the main settlements with the study area.
- A consideration of the housing needs of Rushden East Sustainable Urban Extension in the context of its role in seeking to meet the wider needs of East Northamptonshire and its impact upon the needs of sub groups in the population.
The study was undertaken between October and December 2019 with the final report produced in February 2020.
