Sheltered and supported housing

A number of housing associations provide sheltered housing (also known as supported housing) within the district of East Northamptonshire. Supported housing is housing designed to assist elderly, disabled people or those with other support needs to lead independent lives. Facilities offered can include a 24-hour emergency pull cord. To apply for supported housing, applicants need to be active on the Council's Housing Register.

It is worth noting that Spire Homes is the main provider of sheltered housing within East Northamptonshire.

Extra Care Scheme

There is a very sheltered housing (Extra Care) scheme in the district. The scheme is called Imperial Court and consists of 41 self-contained 1 and 2 bedroom flats. The scheme is designed to enable residents to live independently in their own home, with 24 hour help and support on hand 365 days of the year. Each flat has a lounge, kitchen, large bedroom and bathroom with walk in shower. Every room has an emergency pull cord facility. Other facilities provided at Imperial Court include; a restaurant, laundry room, hairdressers, library and computer suite, and a health & fitness studio.

Applicants for this scheme should be able to care for themselves and live independently with the assistance of care services. Applicants for this scheme will need to apply direct to Imperial Court.
