February 2018: Notification of intention to sell an ACV

"Fletton Field" (the former Primary School Playing field, off Glapthorn Road, Oundle - Land Registry Title NN295598) was registered as an Asset of Community Value under the Localism Act 2011 in 2016.

Notice has been given that the owner (Northamptonshire County Council) intends to sell this property.

Oundle Town Council has made a written request to be treated as a potential bidder in the sale of this ACV.  Under the legislation, there is now a 6 month moratorium on the sale of the property.  The moratorium remains in force until the 21 August 2018.  During this period, the owner may continue to market and negotiate a sale, but may not exchange contracts (or enter into a binding contract to do so later) unless it is to a community group as defined in regulation 12 of the Regulations.

After the six month moratorium period, the owner will be free to sell to whomever they choose and at whatever price and no further moratorium will apply for the remainder of a protected period lasting 18 months (from the date of notification of proposed sale to the Council).

The property will remain listed for five years (until 1 April 2021) unless it is sold in accordance with the Act.
