Parish arrangements review postponed

Review of boundary and electoral arrangements rescheduled
A review of parish arrangements for Raunds/Ringstead and Oundle/Barnwell/Ashton has been postponed pending completion of a review of electoral divisions by Northamptonshire County Council (NCC).
The original advice received from the Local Government Boundary Commission for England (LGBCE) was that, as long as the review was concluded in time for them to receive any recommendations for change by early December 2012, those recommendations could be implemented in time for the May 2013 county council elections.
Revised advice from the LGBCE now states that they need 12 months between receiving recommendations and implementing them. The next opportunity for any changes to be implemented is therefore in time for the May 2015 district and parish council elections.
Postponing the review means that the council will be able to take into account any changes to the County Council electoral divisions, which are currently being reviewed by the LGBCE. Further information on next steps for the review will be available shortly.
