 Off the beaten track, explore miles of footpaths, cycle routes and bridleways and discover hidden hamlets and ancient churches. The peaceful countryside embraces exquisite country houses, wonderful gardens and countless historic curiosities.

A network of footpaths and bridleways allow you to plan anything from a short walk to a full days hike.

Follow the Nene Way along the banks of the river for part or all of its 70 miles as it goes "up hill and down dale".

The Jurassic Way is a former prehistoric trackway which closely follows the course of the River Welland.

Explore the Lyveden Way, a picturesque 9.5 mile route through part of the Rockingham Forest, beginning at Fermyn Woods Country Park.

Circular walking routes are an ideal introduction to the area and some of the routes focus around the villages of Fotheringhay and Woodnewton, Aldwincle and Wadenhoe and Nassington and Yarwell.

The 'Boots and Bikes' leaflet promotes the main Sustrans regional route and new Greenway walking and cycling route which runs from Islip to Rushden.
