FAQs - wheeled bins and food caddies

What if I cannot wheel the bins to my collection point?

We still offer an assisted collection to residents that are not able to take their bins to the normal collection point. In these cases the crew walk to collect the bin from an agreed place and then return the bin to where it was stored, after emptying. You may find however that the wheeled bins are easier to move than boxes and sacks were.

Should I mark my bins with my house name or number?

Yes please do.  This will help our crews return the bins to the right place and reduce the chance of a neighbour taking the wrong bin by mistake.  Please note however, that the bins remain the property of the council and should not be removed if you move house.
