Supplementary Planning Documents
Overview
The 2004 Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act made provision for the preparation of Supplementary Planning Documents (SPDs) to provide greater detail on policies in development plan documents (DPDs), which would also form part of the statutory LDF. The 2004 Regulations and obligations surrounding SPDs were however, found to be generally over bureaucratic and onerous, so revisions to the legislation and regulations during 2008 removed many of the administrative barriers which had previously discouraged Councils from preparing SPDs.

Between 09 November and 21 December, the Trees and Landscape - Consultation Draft was open for public consultation. It should soon be adopted following consultation feedback. For further information please see the following link:
